A Gorgeous Mama and Her Baby Bump.
I sat down to write this blog post more than a handful of times, but I just haven’t been able to put in to words the magic that happened during Morgan and I’s 2 day maternity photoshoot. This was more than just a photoshoot, it was an opportunity for me to capture the soul of an absolutely stunning mama to be. Morgan is in medical school with my husband, and she is probably the most knowledgeable person I have ever met when it comes to women’s health and pregnancy. Being around her makes you feel so empowered as a woman, and so lucky to be among the 50% of the population that has the option of bearing children.
On our first photoshoot, we decided to go to the beach, and although it had rained all day, I assured Morgan that the weather was PERFECT for her shoot. The minute we stepped foot onto the sand, the magic started. Every time she looked into my lens, I saw something raw, beautiful, and real. Capturing love has quickly become one of my favorite things to do, as well as capturing true beauty. Who knew that the love of an unborn child may be one of the most beautiful things of all?
Watching the love pour out of her was so amazing, and as a result, every picture was amazing. It made me want to dance all over the sand…. admittedly I did; to which Morgan replied: ” you really are meant to do this”.
I am meant to do this.
The sentence still rings in my head. The joy I feel, when I am able to capture something raw, something real, something beautiful… It is the best feeling in the whole world. There really aren’t words to describe the kind of fulfillment and satisfaction I feel every time I am trusted to capture an important moment in someone’s life.
I very often find myself trying to convince pregnant women why maternity photoshoots are important, and this photoshoot is case and point. Documenting the relationship you have with your baby before you have to share them with the whole world… is something you can only do once. The little person that spends 9 months growing inside of you, will quickly be out in the world and thriving, so cherish every moment… I know Morgan has. And seeing that, is a beautiful thing.
Beautiful images!
